Patty the Dueling Piano-Player!

This year and last year, I had a fantastic time doing dueling piano gigs on Norwegian Cruise Lines...in the Caribbean and in the Baltic Sea.  I highly recommend the Baltic Sea itinerary - 9 days in fabulous ports:  Copenhagen (Denmark), Warnemunde (Germany), Tallinn (Estonia), St. Petersburg (Russia), Helsinkin (Finland) and Stockholm (Sweden).

I also played at King Size Pub in Lausanne, Switzerland, which is almost my second home - I've been doing 2-4 weeks a year there, almost every year since 2003.

If you're in southern California, you have to come see me play at Piano Piano Dueling Piano Show in charming Claremont, California!  I play every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, plus a few Wednesday nights each month.

Even if you've been to dozens of other dueling piano shows, you HAVE to see this one. The players are incredibly talented, the staff is super, there's a free shot wheel you can spin after your birthday roast, and if you don't like a song, you can outbid it and then slam one of the BIG RED BUTTONS on the piano to stop it and we'll play your song instead!

Located at 555 W. Foothill Blvd, Claremont, CA, between the 10 and 210 Freeways - right on historic Route 66 - PianoPiano has no cover on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.

If you want a seat, or don't want to stand in a line, reservations are highly recommended...especially on weekends (we sell out almost every weekend). And...BONUS...the piano bar is right next to a Doubletree Hotel, so if you plan on getting hammered, you don't have to drive - you can just walk over to your room and pass out! Suh-weet!

As always, make sure you email me first if you want to make sure I will be performing on a certain night...I occasionally play private parties or special dates at other venues.

Patty the Internet Sensation!

Patty Performs with Captain Kirk! - Yes, I got to accompany the Golden Throat himself, William Shatner!  It was for the opening day of the humongous RSA Conference in San Francisco, and they "beamed" him in to sing "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" with reworked lyrics to spoof the conference topic (internet security)...performed at 6:30am!  A few videos of the performance were uploaded to YouTube, but my husband shot this video of me accompanying William Shatner - I come in about 1:25 minutes into it (there's a long intro)

Patty Has Bunches of Dueling Piano Videos on YouTube - RoxaneLiving on a Prayer, Layla, Boogie Oogie OogieMy Humps, Sexy and I Know It, Sweet Child o' Mine, a special (meaning:  raunchy) birthday song, and a compilation recorded at Johnny Foley's in San Francisco of Bohemian Rhapsody, Sweet Home Alabama, You're the One That I Want and Ain't No Mountain High Enough.  All recorded live (meaning:  crappy audio), with drunk people in the bar singing along.

Patty Performs with One of Her Idols - For you Neil Finn/Crowded House fans out there, I had one of my dreams come true when, at a Neil Finn solo concert, he asked if anyone could play piano.  Many hands went up, so he said the first person who comes on stage can help him out. Some guy behind me hoisted me up there, and I got to play the song Anytime with him.  Someone in the front row kindly posted this video, although the camera is not on me (it's on Neil, obviously), Neil throws me a solo so you can hear me nervously do my thing at about 1:55, and you can see me at about 3:40 when I get up to shake his hand.

Patty the Big TV Star!

Along with Jim Carey, Steven Ramirez and Craig Hendry (3 of my compadres from PianoPiano), we competed as the "Dueling Piano-Players" team on the new TV game show America Says on the Game Show Network.  Our episode has aired several times already, but I won't blow the ending if you stream it, or happen to catch it on cable TV.  It was super fun to shoot, and the show is hysterically funny!

The last time I did a TV game show was about 10 years ago, as the back-up singer to fellow dueler Stephen Haas who competed on Fox's game show Don't Forget the Lyrics.  He didn't win the million bucks, but he did a great job and was arguably their most entertaining contestant!

I also do sidelining gigs from time to time, so here are some TV shows where you might see me (and one movie).  Don't get too excited - "sidelining" is a euphemism for "an extra who fakes playing a musical instrument."

Mistresses - Season 2, Episode 12, "Surprise" - and surprise, surprise, I'm playing keyboards in a band at a restaurant when Alyssa Milano's date gets up to sing with us.

Private Practice - I'm playing keyboards in a band at a formal fundraiser event for the hospital.  Fun fact:  all the make-up ladies were clamoring to dust powder on Taye Diggs' face.

Brothers and Sisters - I'm playing piano at an engagement party. Close-up of my back (ha!) as I'm playing background for a scene with Rob Lowe, Calista Flockhart and Marion Ross. I'm in another scene playing in the background while Sally Field and Marion Ross have a chat.

Eli Stone, episode "Freedom" - I played a pianist (shocker) in another engagement party band.  I'm on the stage by the keyboard (of course)...standing next to Victor Garber

Desperate Housewives - You can hear me play and see my hands on episode 2.03 "You'll Never Get Away From Me."  I spent a day on the set as a "hand double" for Nicolette Sheridan in an episode where her character has to play the piano. (And play badly!  And yes, that's me playing.  The director kept asking me to make it sound worse.)

The Ghost Whisperer - I'm in the pilot episode, playing keyboards in the wedding band right behind Jennifer Love Hewitt in the scene where she gets married.  In Europe, you can see me in the opening credits of every show.

Freaky Friday - While Lindsay Lohan's band is playing, I'm hanging with the rest of the wedding band (what else) in the back standing at the bar (where else).

Patty the World Traveler!

2019:  I was in Lausanne, Switzerland playing at the super fun King Size Pub in April/May.  Afterwards, my husband and I toured around Burgundy and Besançon in France.  My husband and went back to France in September, this time to see Normandy, the Atlantic coast and the southwest Béarn region.

Our big trip for 2018 was one month in Nepal and India...two 2-week small group adventure tours:  Kathmandu to Delhi and India Real Food Adventure.  We hit up a bunch of incredible  places:  Kathmandu, Lumbini, Varanasi, Orchha, Agra, Delhi, Jaipur, Udaipur, Bijaipur (all the 'purs), Mumbai and ending on the beach in Goa.

2017 was lovely...I played the dueling piano show with Davina Yannetty at King Size Pub in Lausanne, Switzerland, and my husband surprised me by flying out for our first (romantic, snowy and cozy) anniversary!  Later in the year we visited my brother and sister-out-law in Charleston, SC and then checked out Savannah, GA while we were there.

In 2016, Morgan and I honeymooned in Costa Rica...Dominical, Tortuguero, Sarapiqui, La Selva Reserve, La Fortuna, Monteverde, Quepos and a couple of fantastic homestays.

In 2015, we went to Switzerland for 3 weeks for my gig in Lausanne (see above), and we took a few short breaks to Barcelona and Lyon for a few days each - an incredible culinary adventure, but no blog!  I forgot!  Too busy eating.

In 2014, Morgan and I went to Scandinavia for a week:  Stockholm, Malmö, Lund (my town!), and Copenhagen, where Morgan proposed!  Then we spent two weeks with my family and Morgan's parents in a beautiful rented villa in Marathon on the mainland of Greece to celebrate my parents 50th Anniversary, and then Morgan and I spent a romantic week in the breathtakingly beautiful Greek Islands - Mykonos and Santorini.

2013 was a pretty amazing year, travel-wise.  Morgan and I went to Indochina for the month of October, going to Thailand (Bangkok, Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai and Chiang Kong), Laos (longboat cruise on the Mekong, Luang Prabang, Vang Vieng and Vientiane), Vietnam (Hanoi, Hue, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City) and Cambodia (Phnom Penh and Siem Reap/Angkor Wat).

I'm in the process of moving my travel blogs to a new site, since my host site ceased to exist!  I'll update here when I upload the blogs from the above trips, and my previous travels to:  Rome, Paris, Amsterdam & Berlin (2012), Morocco (2010), Sicily, Lausanne & Venice (2009), and Mongolia & China (2008).
